- Dutch parlament approves growth of Lelystad airport ,03 November 2009
It has now been officially approved for Lelystad airport to receive more and larger traffic. The airport has announced it's aim to having ATC as well as an ILS active as from May 2010. Since it is not expected for Lelystad airport to function as an overflow for Amsterdam Schiphol, a runway extension, even though approved, is however postponed. Nevertheless, Lelystad airport is expected to be more attractive for general and commercial light aviation thanks to IFR possibilities and longer opening hours.
